I first saw this rose at the Hershey Gardens in PA and knew I had to have one. I have not been disappointed - the color is vibrant, the blooms last a long time, and it produced a good number of blooms for the first year. I can't wait to see how it does next year.

Opening Night is one of the best performing reds I have. It responds best to dead heading back to a solid cane, or it will bloom on weak stems. This year both of my plants have had up to 35 blooms each at any given time. Wonderful cut flower.

I live in NE Ohio. The first year I had strong flowers on strong stems. The next year the flowers were weak and the plant develoed 2 main stems that looked like 2 plants. Last year I pruned it down and this year I am having semi-strong flowers and stems. The flowers itself lasts a long time (on the plant or as cut flowers), but the first year's strong deep red (almost starting out as a red/black color getting to a deep red as the bud blooms into a large flower) is gone. Maybe next year I will have a stronger flower.
