I purchased Chrysler Imperial Rose, 3 seasons ago, this is a wonderful rose an very winter hardy here in zone 6(PA). I add no more than mulch for winter protection. In the description of this rose it says it susceptible to mildew, i have never gotten any mildew on my C.I. even when a forced illness delayed my spraying progam by 3weeks. Sometimes C.I will get a little blackspotting on the leaves, but it doesnt stop this beautiful rose from putting out many buds. The smell is awesome, i love it so much that today i decided to get another, although i now have limited spacing among my 78 roses, i wanted to have another because of the beauty and scent. The tall upright rose produces large high centered roses, the canes are thick and sturdy (no nobbing heads). The rose flushes quickly after deadheading. The flowers last approx 7 or more days on the bush and as well in the vase. A must have for your garden.
