'Climbing Crimson Glory' rose Reviews & Comments

This past spring (2006) I bought a bare root plant from Lowe's and planted the rose in straight red Georgia clay on the east side of my house. I've given it no special treatment, no extra water during the summer. It's now the end of October and the plant is 8' high, not a hint of mildew, no black spot and has still got several HUGE, gorgeous, EXQUISITELY fragrant deepest red blooms on it.
Once this is dormant, I'm digging it up and transplanting it to a new, soil amended spot where I can enjoy this treasure. I'm also buying some own-root plants ASAP... Buy this rose! Jeff

Cl. Crimson Glory is pretty fantastic in northern California too. I planted a dozen with 2 dozen Don Juans along our property line in Roseville. It was incredible when they were in bloom and looked pretty good when they weren't. Cl. CG would get a little bit of rust occasionally but not bad. I know why you like it. CG is my #1 favorite rose so excuse my enthusiasm. Dave

I have recently purchased a climbing crimson glory and planted it in between (4 feet apart) a climbing golden showers and a climbing hot 'n' spicy and they have both took off and started new growth, but the crimson glory has only wilted a bit and seems to be struggling to survive, same water, same soil same sunlight. are these not very strong growers?
