Discovered by Hugh Dickson (c.1877 -1922) (United Kingdom, 1923).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1924 as 'General MacArthur, Cl.'.

Bloom:
Crimson and scarlet.  Carmine in heat.  Strong fragrance.  Semi-double (9-16 petals) bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.

Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
