Bred by Alain Meilland (1940-....) (France, 1994).
Introduced in United States by Conard-Pyle (Star Roses) in 1995 as 'Colette'.
Introduced in Australia by Corporate Roses Pty. Ltd. in 2001 as 'Genevieve'.
Class:
Climber, Large-Flowered Climber.   (Series: Romantica ™)  
Bloom:
Coral-pink.  Strong, tea fragrance.  135 to 140 petals.  Average diameter 3.25".  Very full (41+ petals), old-fashioned, quartered bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles, climbing.  Dark green, dense foliage.  

Height: 35" to 6'7" (90 to 200cm).  Width: 3' (90cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 5b and warmer.  Can be grown as a shrub.  Disease susceptibility: very disease resistant.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.

A new and distinct variety of climbing rose plant which abundantly forms attractive fragrant ruffled pink blossoms. Parentage: (MEIbeluxen x 'Friesia') x 'Prairie Princess'. The new variety has been named the 'Meiroupis' variety... The shape of the flower is ruffled and similar to that of an old-fashioned rose.
