For a really brilliant scarlet, Karen Poulsen is hard to beat. It is tall-growing, having large, single, brilliant scarlet blooms. One defect may be its leggy type of growth, but the colour of the bloom more than compensates for this.

Yhtämittaisen ja suunnattoman kukkarikkautensa vuoksi on tämä erinomainen sekä ryhmäistutuksiin että eri kseen istutettuna. Kukat ovat yksinkertaiset suurissa litteissä vihoissa ja väriltään häikäisevän punaisia. Ruusu on hometautivapaa. Korkeus 50---60 sm.

Polyantha roses ....KAREN POULSEN. Novelty. This novelty has the same good properties as all other Poulsen roses. Due to its uniform and immense abundance of flowers, this is excellent both for group plantings and when planted solitary. The blooms are single in large flat panicles and a dazzling red color. The rose is fungal disease-free. Height 50---60 cm.

New Roses 1934.  Karen Poulsen  (Hyb. Poly. D. T. Poulson 1932) This is a cross between 'Kirsten Poulsen' and 'Vesuvius'. The colour is a bright brilliant scarlet and does not become blue before fading. The flowers, which are larger than 'Kirsten Poulsen', are single and produced in clusters. The growth is vigorous, with good foliage and most floriferous. An undoubted acquisition that will be much in demand. 4/- each.
A very vivid coloured variety which is very attractive. The flowers are quite single, carrying 5 petals, while there is no white eye usual with varieties of this type.
