Bred by George Paul (1841-1921) (United Kingdom, 1875).
Introduced in Australia by George Brunning - St. Kilda Nurseries in 1882 as 'Duke of Connaught'.

Bloom:
Crimson, red shading.  Moderate fragrance.  Large, double (17-25 petals), globular bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Growing:
USDA zone 4a through 5b.
