Discovered by Henry Merryweather jun. (United Kingdom, 1909).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in before 1921 as 'Jessie'.
Class:
Polyantha.  
Bloom:
Crimson, white center, ages to rose-pink .  Mild fragrance.  Average diameter 1.5".  Small, semi-double (9-16 petals), in large clusters bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles, bushy, well-branched.  Small, glossy foliage.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
