Bred by Francis Dubreuil (France, 1902).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in before 1911 as 'Madame Martignier'.

Bloom:
Vermilion, mauve shading, dark red highlights, tan edges.  Strong fragrance.  Medium, double (17-25 petals) bloom form.  
Habit:
Climbing.  
Height of 6' 7" (200 cm).  Width of 4' 11" (150 cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Very vigorous.  
Notes:
'Mme Martignier' in commerce is mislabeled.
