Bred by Ronald J. Bell (Australia, before 1986).
Introduced in Australia by Roy H. Rumsey Pty. Ltd. in 1988 as 'The Australian Bicentennial'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Red.  Strong fragrance.  35 petals.  Average diameter 3.5".  Medium, borne mostly solitary, high-centered bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Medium, glossy foliage.  

Height: 4'1" to 5¼' (125 to 160cm).  Width: 39" to 4'7" (100 to 140cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Can be used for cut flower or garden.  
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
Named in commemoration of the Australian Bicentennial.
The parentage has been quoted in a 1999 reference as [‘Daily Sketch’ x ‘Impeccable’] x ‘Red Planet.
This was the same parentage as 'Mary Delahunty', a similar rose bred at about the same time.
