Exhibition name: Angelita Ruaix
Origin:
Bred by Pedro (Pere) Dot (Spain, 1940).
Class:
Hybrid Tea, Pernetiana.
Bloom:
Orange - yellow.  Mild fragrance.  Large, double (17-25 petals), high-centered bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Long, pointed buds.
Habit:
Well-branched.  Large, glossy, dark green foliage.
Growing:
USDA zone 6b and warmer.  Vigorous.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.
Notes:
Ana Godes writes: Angelita Ruaix is my grandmother and she was 94 years old on June 19, 2001. Until 1997 her roses were cared by my grandfather - who was a great roses fan - in their house garden in Barcelona, Spain. When he died and we left the house, I took the roses to Mr. Dot's son for "grafting" as I didn't want to lose my grandfather's effort and such a nice rose. Today, on my terrace, I enjoy them a lot.
