Bred by Wilhelm J.H. Kordes II (1891-1976) (Germany, 1933).
Introduced in United States by Jackson & Perkins Co. (Newark, NY) in 1933 as 'Goldenes Mainz'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1935 as 'Goldenes Mainz'.

Hybrid Tea.  

Golden-yellow.  Strong, tea fragrance.  50 to 75 petals.  Average diameter 4".  Medium to large, full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, cluster-flowered, in small clusters, cupped bloom form.  Prolific, blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Medium, ovoid buds.  

Bushy, few or no prickles/thorns, spreading, upright.  Large, semi-glossy, bronze-green, dense foliage.  

USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Can be used for cut flower or garden.  Produces decorative hips.
