Bred by Alexander Dickson II (1857-1949) (United Kingdom, 1914).
Introduced in Australia by H. Kemp in 1915 as 'Red Letter Day'.

Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Scarlet - crimson, pink stamens.  Devoid of any blue or magenta. golden stamens, petals twist back and forward. Cactus-dahlia-shaped flowers.  None / no fragrance.  Average diameter 3.5".  Semi-double (9-16 petals) bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Upright.  Matte, grey-green foliage.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Disease susceptibility: susceptible to blackspot .

A tall bedder that had a white streak in the center petals. Deepening in autumn to "almost black".
