Origin:
Bred by Marie-Louise (Louisette) Meilland (Paolino) (1920-1987) (France, 1969).
Introduced in Australia by Roy H. Rumsey Pty. Ltd. in 1973 as 'Impérator'.
Class:
Floribunda.  
Bloom:
Carmine-red, cherry-red shading, golden-yellow undertones.  Mild, apple, fruity fragrance.  25 to 30 petals.  Average diameter 4.5".  Large, very double, borne mostly solitary, in small clusters bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Upright.  Large, semi-glossy, dark green foliage.  

Height: 28" to 32" (70 to 80cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b and warmer.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.
