Heavenly Gold (MACyelkil) [HT] In the past strong yellow roses which held their colour in the sun were few and far between. Usually bred in cooler climates they did not perform at their best in the Australian sunshine. From McGredy in New Zealand comes a magnificent, deep, deep yellow rose which really holds its colour in the sun. Blooms are of classic shape with thick, reflexing petals. The plant is tall, vigorous and healthy, repeating quickly when one crop of blooms is over.

Hybrid Tea. Heart of Gold (MACyelkil); 'Solitaire' x 'Remember Me'; deep yellow; 4 reports on 5 plants; 1-2 years; 1.4 metres; 7.7 (interim) rating. Only 4 reports and they are from the top of the North Island, and all are favourable. Tall habit, blooms a lovely non-fading yellow opening with a frilly effect. The blooms come in large trusses at times and the blooms are on the small size. We will await further reports next year to get a better idea.
