'American Pillar' rose Reviews & Comments

Every year I am amazed at a remarkable specimen of this rose on property where it is totally neglected and simply grown as an arching shrub. Doesn't repeat, but is a showstopper for a few weeks. In full sun, I don't see a lot of disease problems. Southern Ohio

This rose is indeed succeptible to mildew! Sometimes a shame to look at when not sprayd what i generally never do.

Werner, Jauche oder Thee gemacht von Schachtelhalm, hilft bei Mehltau, auch wenn es schon fortgeschritten ist.
You can make liquid manure (or tea) of "Rough Horsetail", or Equisetum to spray against mildew. Even when it is very bad...then just make the solution stronger! "Rough Horsetail" contains a lot of silicium, that strengthens the leaves and buds...or even the whole plant when fertilized with it.
This works on bushes of the Gooseberry too! (then add some nettles to the manure.)

I have had this rose for several years. The blooms are only 1/2 inch! They are supposed to be 2 1/2 inches! What gives? has anyone ever had this experience?

As for the picture, I would say this rose is mislabeled!

The pictured rose is definitely not 'American Pillar'.

In the Atlanta area, grows & blooms rampantly. Roots on contact with soil..I have cuttings for trade.
