Origin:
Bred by Jacques-Louis Descemet (France, before 1815).
Class:
Gallica / Provins.  
Bloom:
Lilac - pink, lighter edges.  Medium to large, full (26-40 petals) bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Habit:
Few or no prickles/thorns.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).

Notes:
Mentioned by Gore in The Book of Roses: of the Rose Fancier's Manual, p. 213, as resembling Alix; Diademe de Flore, only smaller.
An earlier 'Diadème de Flore' by Descemet (later sold by Vibert) was replaced by a larger rose of the same name by Sommesson. The earlier was then calles "ancien" [old Diadem], but the two roses often confused in literature.
