Leander's blooms are a soft blend of peach and pink, produced in clusters of tight buds that slowly open one after another. Blooming is staggered to such a degree that one cluster can last three to four weeks. The photos here are from week two. I don't have any other rose that blooms quite like this. In its first flush, Leander is about three to four feet tall (over 1 meter) but it must be staked before the second flush when canes can reach 7-8ft tall (2.5 meters). Leander is always moderately fragrant but this past spring it had the best scent of any rose in my garden. I kept visiting it over and over just to keep inhaling the fragrance!
