July 5th._ The Moss Roses are to-day in full beauty. How few among the new varieties of this charming group are really worthy attention ! the new dark Moss Roses, Purpurea rubra, Cramoisie, Foncée, Vaugelin, and L'Obscurité, are all semi-double, poor meagre varieties.

Moss....Pourpre (Laffay's seedling) (Laffay; hybrid); flowers rich crimson, shaded with purple, of medium size, double; the colours of the buds most beautiful; form, cupped. Growth, vigorous. This variety requires but little pruning. Well adapted for a short pillar.
