Origin:
Bred by Transon-Gombault (France, before 1843).
Introduced in Australia by Handasyde, McMillan & Co. in 1864 as 'Transon Gombault'.
Class:
Gallica / Provins.  
Bloom:
Red, lighter edges.  Large, full (26-40 petals) bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
