According to the Canadian Plant Breeders' Rights Office, an application (No. 97-1079) for KORfleur was filed by Bear Creek Gardens, Inc.
According to the US Patent for KORfleur, this rose is a red Floribunda which has very high cut-flower production and a very long vase life. It was discovered as a single branch spontaneous mutation of a plant of KORflapei growing in a greenhouse in Bemmel, The Netherlands, in 1997, which bore a red flower as compared to the bright yellow flowers of KORflapei. KORfleur differs from KORflapei in flower color and in anther (filament) color. It has the same high cut flower production and long vase life of its parent.
