Dark red.  Strong fragrance.  Large, semi-double (9-16 petals), full (26-40 petals), high-centered bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.

USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).

Notes:
Apparently, this rose was named by visitors to the Brownell's garden who upon seeing this rose exclaimed, "Oh! how velvety!"
