Bred by Louis Claude Noisette (France, before 1811). Bred by Labaye-pere (France, before 1836).
Class:
Gallica / Provins.  
Bloom:
Dark purple - red, streaks, stripes, flecks.  Red-lilac.  Medium, semi-double (9-16 petals) bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Habit:
Few or no prickles/thorns.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood..  Prune after flowering is finished.
