Bred by Jacques-Julien Margottin père (1817-1892) (France, 1860).
Introduced in Australia by Thomas Lang in 1866 as 'Duc de Magenta'.

Bloom:
Salmon-pink, ages to light pink .  Moderate fragrance.  Large, full (26-40 petals), cupped bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
