Bred by William Paul (1822-1905) (United Kingdom, 1890).
Introduced in Australia by C. F. Newman and Sons - Adelaide in 1894 as 'Crimson Queen'.
Class:
Hybrid Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Crimson, red center, brown reverse.  Very large, double (17-25 petals), globular bloom form.  Occasional repeat later in the season.  
Habit:
Few or no prickles/thorns, upright.  

Height: up to 4'11" (up to 150cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b and warmer.  Vigorous.
