Origin:
Discovered by Pierre (fils) Bernaix (France, 1922).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1924 as 'Émile Charles'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea, Pernetiana.  
Bloom:
Coral-red, pink edges, red undertones.  Reverse shaded golden-yellow.  Medium bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  
Notes:
Similar to 'Angèle Pernet'
Emile Charles (1844 - November 27, 1931), rose lover, vice-president of the society "Les Amis des Roses", received a Gold Medal at the Congress of "Les Amis des Roses" in Biarritz, 1924.
