The first article [in "The Florist"] is by Mr. Rivers, on Standard Climbing Roses, and is written in his usual racy style. He gives the names of some climbing roses, which, when budded on strong stems, make beautiful pendent trees, and which, after the first year, require very little trouble. The most interesting sorts are stated to be
...Myrianthes, with its abundance of flowers of the most delicate pink, is equally worthy of a place on the lawn, grass plot, or in a small garden.

Myrianthes Rénoncule Sempervirens: flowers pale peach, their centres white, hanging in graceful trusses, of medium size, full; form cupped, fine. A handsome Climbing or Pillar Rose.

Rosa Sempervirens. The Evergreen Rose.
Myrianthes is of the most regular form, being very double, and imbricated to the centre; a plant covered with its delicate rosy coloured flowers is a charming object. It has been sold (as its name imports) as a Noisette, blooming all the season, a character which it never merited, never had, and never will have.

Sempervirens. Myrianthes, sometimes called Ranonculacea, is a charming plant: its flowers are so perfectly and elegantly shaped, and their colour so delicate, that, if not the most beautiful of all, it is one of them.

A Description of Climbing & Autumnal Flowering Roses, by the Rev. James Jones, A. M. Bristow Rectory.
Many of the Autumnal Flowering Roses being now in bloom, both climbers and others, I forward for insertion in the Cabinet, a list of what I know to be good. The kinds I have seen in bloom, and have carefully compared the flowers with the descriptions given by Mr. Rivers, Mr. Wood, and others, celebrated for growing Roses, that I can testify to their correctness and agreement, as to merit. I have forwarded the list now in order that, being inserted immediately, it will be serviceable to those persons desirous of procuring plants for autumn planting.
