‘Astra Desmond’/’White Flight’ = Grimpant liane. Dédié à une célébrité de l’opéra britannique, ce rosier fut perdu sous ce nom jusqu’à ce que Peter Beales le redécouvrit sous une identité d’emprunt… petites fleurs semi-doubles, blanc cassé à crème… Sain et vigoureux… Selon l’experte néo-zélandaise, Sally Allison, il sent la fleur d’oranger. Peut-être un semis de ‘White Mrs Flight’.

Astra Desmond (Rambler) A vigorous well foliated climber. Large clusters of double white flowers produced in great profusion. Origin unknown.
Book  (Sep 1996)  Page(s) 164. an outstanding white rambler which my nursery has been guilty for a number of years of listing erroneously as 'White Flight', and which is clearly a sport from 'Mrs. F. W. Flight'. It appears that when first introduced by Hilliers of Winchester in the 1950s it was named 'Astra Desmond' and it has been distributed since under both names.
