Dark red Hybrid Perpetual.
Origin:
Bred by Victor Trouillard (France, 1857).
Introduced in Australia by Exotic Nursery (Australia) in 1866 as 'Cardinal Patrizzi'.
Class:
Hybrid Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Red, purple shading, brown highlights.  Moderate fragrance.  Medium, double (17-25 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, flat bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Upright.  
Height of up to 39" (up to 100 cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  
Notes:
Said to be similar to 'Vainqueur de Solferino' and 'Mrs. Standish'. - see References.
