Dark red Hybrid Perpetual.
Origin:
Bred by Victor Trouillard (France, 1856).
Introduced in Australia by Exotic Nursery (Australia) in 1866 as 'Cardinal Patrizi'.
Class:
Hybrid Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Dark red, red reverse, brown highlights.  Moderate fragrance.  Average diameter 3".  Medium, double (17-25 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, flat bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Rounded, upright.  3 to 5 leaflets.  

Height: up to 39" (up to 100cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
Said to be similar to 'Vainqueur de Solferino' and 'Mrs. Standish'. - see References.
Dedicated to Costantino Patrizi Naro (September 4, 1798 Siena - December 17, 1876 Rome), Cardinal since 1834. and also godfather at the baptism of Napoléon-Eugène-Louis-Jean-Joseph, imperial prince of France, on June 14, 1856
