Storrs & Harrison Co. (Painesville, Ohio) catalog for Spring 1894 Christine de Noue. A charming new red Tea Rose of large size and fine, full, double flowers. It is a splendid grower, making a large sized, fine shaped bush with bright, deep green foliage. The fine large flowers are borne on strong stems; the buds are long and finely pointed; the most desirable shape for cut flower purposes. Color clear, rich maroon, changing to purplish red. A constant and very free bloomer. An excellent variety for either pot culture or outdoor planting.

This is one that people with more expertise than mine have considered as a possibility for "Kombacy Elyena", a rose which has been found (and given various study names), in most of the mainland states of Australia. It's valuable that we now have an illustration of it; keep them coming!

The Garden 51: 121-122 (Feb 13, 1897)
Rose Christine de Noue (Tea).—This is a variable Rose, the flowers oft-times coming parti-coloured, half of the blossom being a beautiful crimson colour and the other half a salmon shade. Towards the autumn the flowers are superb, of a fine size, and quite up to exhibition stamp; the petals of splendid substance. It is a fine Rose, with the sturdy habit of such as Grace Darling, Marie d'Orleans, &c. Under glass it is very good, the rosy crimson colour showing to great advantage in the forcing house when mingled with the delicate coloured Teas. The peculiar variation in colour outdoors is conspicuous by its absence when this variety is grown under glass in strong heat.
