Origin:
Bred by Francis Dubreuil (France, 1909).
Introduced in France by Francis Dubreuil in 1910 as 'Bocca Negra'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1912 as 'Bocca Negra'.
Class:
Hybrid Multiflora, Rambler.  
Bloom:
Purple - crimson, white center.  Single (4-8 petals), in large clusters, cupped bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Habit:
7 leaflets.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Very vigorous.  
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
Boccanegra is the garden which Ellen Willmott had built betweeen 1906-1923 in Ventimiglia, Liguria, Italy.
