'Girona' rose References
Book  (1939)

p99.  S. R. Bird.  Notes From Auckland.
Girona is of the type of Li Bures, but quite distinct and beautiful, and grows well.

p127.  Mr S.J. Bisdee.  Tasmanian Roses.
Girona.- This gave me a lot of satisfaction. The growth and foliage were both splendid. Blooms - very pretty
 - had good substance and did not fade out. I like it.

p18. Harry H. Hazlewood.  The New Roses of 1938.
Girona Pernt. (P. Dot, 1936) Said to resemble 'Talisman', but is more like 'President Herbert Hoover' and suggests a seedling of 'Li Bures'.  The foliage is good and the variety a welcome novelty.

p113 Mr. Allen Brundrett,  New Roses in Victoria
'Girona' (Dot) and 'Elite(Tantau) are two which come under the heading of "Fancy Class".   Although being quite distinct from each other, they both, to a certain extent, resemble 'President Herbert Hoover, though 'Elite' is more pronounced in this respect, being a cross of 'Charles P. Kilham' x 'Pres. H. Hoover' and retaining the 'Pres. Hoover' habit of growth.  Both varieties are held very erect on long shoots, and have long, broad petals - 'Elite' 15 to 20 and 'Girona' 25 to 30.  Both should make good decorative and garden Roses of a type similar to 'Pres. Hoover', but neither has so far shown exhibition form.

Bush Roses
Girona (Pernetiana)... A glorious medley of rose pink, yellow and red, somewhat recalling "Talisman" in colour. The buds are pointed. The habit is very free, giving a constant succession, and the growth is exceptionally vigorous, with plenty of shiny disease-resisting foliage. Very highly perfumed. Introduced 1937.

New Roses 1938. Girona  (Pernt. P. Dot 1936) A glorious medley of rose pink, yellow and red, somewhat recalling 'Talisman' in colour. Long and pointed buds opening to intensely fragrant blooms. Exceptionally vigorous growth with plenty of shiny disease resisting foliage. 5/- each.
A very good variety and apparently a seedling from 'Li Bures'.
