Origin:
Bred by Hendrikus Antonie Verschuren Jr. (1885-1947) (Netherlands, before 1941).
Introduced in United States by Henry A. Dreer Archive in 1941 as 'Mrs. Oliver Ames'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Lemon-yellow, darker shading, ages to lighter .  Strong fragrance.  45 to 50 petals.  Average diameter 3.75".  Large, very full (41+ petals), globular bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Medium, long, pointed buds.  
Habit:
Medium, glossy, dark green, leathery foliage.  3 to 5 leaflets.  
Growing:
USDA zone 7b and warmer.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.  Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) .
