According to Harkness Roses' Autumn 2000/Spring 2001 Catalog, there are 103 City Livery companies in London. The main activities of the Livery companies are to support the Lord Mayor and Sheriffs, charity and education. This rose is the branchild of Delva Pateman, who approached Harkness to see if they would be able to introduce a new rose to honor the Livery Companies. The blooms of 'City Livery' are a bright and subtle lemon yellow.
