This is my favorite rose because it is one of the most shade resistant, floriferous, fragrant hybrid teas around. Have about fifty-three rose bushes and most have to make do with less than six hours of direct light and lots of fog, here in San francisco. My Peter Mayle has only been getting five or so this year because a tree from the neighbor's yard has grown out of control, blocking out morning light. However, it still is giving me some huge, grapefruit sized, fragrant blooms. Albeit, less of them this year. It has grown to over six feet tall and five wide in less than five years and has always been vigourous and disease free. In years past, it has been in continuous bloom, from late spring to fall.
I just bought another today, which I will plant in a sunnier location. Hopefully, it will give me as many blooms as my older plant. Maybe even more, since it will be getting more light.

Very short life here ... Lost the first one after one year (didn't come from the situation ...I planted a Botero to replace it, and it's doing very well). My second Lolita has just died from a sudden death - after four or five years (would need to look it up). Shan't be getting another one ... Pity!

Long stems. Vigorous. Excellent as a cut flower.
