Introduced in Australia by George Brunning - St. Kilda Nurseries in 1897 as 'Hippolyte Barreau'.

Carmine-red, crimson shading.  Strong fragrance.  Large, double (17-25 petals), globular bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.

Upright.
