Bred by Max Krause (Germany, 1933).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1936 as 'Kardinal'.

Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Dark red.  Moderate fragrance.  Medium to large, double (17-25 petals), cupped bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Short, bushy, compact, dense.  Light green foliage.  
Growing:
USDA zone 7b and warmer.  Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) .
