Origin:
Bred by Eugène Verdier fils aîne (France, 1894).
Introduced in Australia by George Brunning - St. Kilda Nurseries in 1897 as 'Souvenir de Charles Verdier'.
Class:
Hybrid Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Purple.  Strong fragrance.  Medium to large, double (17-25 petals), in small clusters bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Large foliage.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
