Introduced in Australia by George Brunning - St. Kilda Nurseries in 1863 as 'Le Mont Vésuve'.

Bloom:
Dark purple - red.  Medium, full (26-40 petals) bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
