Origin:

Discovered by Joseph Smith (2004). Discovered by Brenda Landers-Smith (United States, 2004).

Class:

Miniature.

Bloom:

Pink blend. Deep pink upper with white reverse.. None to mild fragrance. up to 25 petals. Average diameter 2". Medium to large, full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, exhibition, high-centered bloom form. Prolific, spring or summer flush with scattered later bloom. Medium buds.

Habit:

Medium. Medium, glossy, dark green foliage.

Growing:

USDA zone 6b through 9b (default). Can be used for cut flower, exhibition or garden. Vigorous. prefers full sun. requires full sun for best color. Disease susceptibility: very disease resistant, very blackspot resistant., very mildew resistant. Can be grown in the ground or in a container (container requires winter protection). Needs little care; relatively disease-free and quite hardy.

Notes:

Sport of Miss Flippins discovered by Joseph C. Smith and Brenda Landers-Smith. Registered with ARS - April 2004. Joe named the rose after his wife to be 'Lady Bren'.

'Lady Bren's first show was Fall 2006 at the Armstrong Rose Show in Carlsbad, CA. See blue ribbon photos.

'Lady Bren' holds its exhibition form much longer than 'Miss Flippins' perhaps due to higher petal count or color/substance. Slow opening. Long sturdy stems. Looks like a mini 'Elizabeth Taylor', (one of parents of 'Miss Flippins') with a white reverse.
