Origin:
Bred by Jean-Baptiste André (fils) Guillot (1827-1893) (France, 1872).
Introduced in Australia by Law, Somner Pty. Ltd. in 1886 as 'Ma Surprise'.
Class:
Hybrid Noisette, Hybrid Roxburghii.  
Bloom:
White or white blend.  Ivory white with salmon and apricot center.  Moderate, tea fragrance.  Average diameter 4".  Double (17-25 petals) bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Climbing.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Very vigorous.  can be trained as a climber.  suitable for a pillar.
