Discovered by E. Gurney Hill Co. (United States, 1918).
Introduced in France by Grandes Roseraies du Val de la Loire in 1920 as 'Madame Butterfly'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1921 as 'Madame Butterfly'.

Hybrid Tea.  

Apricot - pink, deep yellow shading, copper center.  Moderate, honey fragrance.  28 to 30 petals.  Large, very double bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  

Well-branched.  

Height: 2' to 4¼' (60 to 130cm).  

USDA zone 6a and warmer.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.  Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) .
