Bred by Carl G. Duehrsen (United States, 1942).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1947 as 'Madame Chiang Kai-shek'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Light yellow.  Strong fragrance.  27 petals.  Average diameter 5".  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Growing:
USDA zone 7b and warmer.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.  Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) .

A correspondent reports: This variety can also be seen growing in The Columbus (Ohio) Park of the Roses... it looks similar to 'Fountain Square', the 'Pristine' sport.
