Discovered by Edward Lee Greene (United States, 1891).

Bloom:
Pink.  Pink to lilac pink.  5 petals.  Medium, single (4-8 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters bloom form.  Glandular sepals buds.  
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles, bristly , spreading, suckers on its own roots, well-branched.  5 to 7 leaflets.  

Height: 8" to 9'10" (20 to 300cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Produces decorative hips.
