Michèle Meilland  Medium. Light pink. Remontant. P3. H3  **
Everyone who admires delicacy and grace ought to see 'Michèle Meilland', which is lovely in its dark smooth stems, its leaves, and its slim blooms. The colour varies greatly, from a ghostly pallor to a jolly flush; and I believe when one's back is turned, 'Michèle' makes herself up on the sly, and favours a touch of yellow or even orange in her powder.
Bred by Francis Meilland from 'Joanna Hill' x 'Peace' and introduced in 1945, it is one of the earlier descendants of 'Peace' to be introduced. This brings a double helping of 'Joanna Hill', whose character is accordingly well stamped upon 'Michèle Meilland'.

Michèle Meilland (hybrid tea, Meilland 1945) - The rose novelties issued by the house Meilland are very numerous. Among them, Michèle Meilland stands foremost due to her elegant long buds and the magnificent bloom colour, which is a mother-of-pearly salmon in the center passing to transparent soft pink towards the edges. The shrubs bloom very readily and the foliage is resistant. Michèle Meilland was chosen as the most beautiful rose of France in 1945 in Lyon.
