Origin:
Bred by Henry H. Marshall (Canada, 1973).
Class:
Hybrid Spinosissima.  
Bloom:
Orange - apricot, pink edges.  Double (17-25 petals) bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Growing:
USDA zone 3b and warmer.  Very hardy.  
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
J 5 has large semi-double, orange-red blossoms that usually appear in clusters of three... it is very hardy. RSM J5 was never officially released as a cultivar by Agriculture Canada, nor was it officially named--the name 'Prairie Magic' was assigned by Paul Olsen.
