Also at the Rosarium of Winschoten.
This rose has a very fine and well balanced strong fragrance! (this in contrary to a lot of other Kordes roses!)

For my alkaline clay & lots of rain, I can't decide between Nahema (died after 2 zone 5a winters) or Beverly? Which one do you like better? Which one has better fragrance? Which one lasts longer in the vase? Thank you !!

Totally different plants: Shrub-like Climber versus non-climbing High Tea. Which habit do You want?
Beverly never did well in my garden, but it was a kind of an amputated plant, that I got delivered.
At the Rosarium of Winschoten, it impressed me with health and perfume. Both perfumes, I like, but are quite different... You'll have to sniff them Yourselves.
In this choice I can't advice. You'll have to decide yourselves.

Thank you, just look over the pic. of Beverly in zone 4, Virginia Clemens Rose Garden in St Cloud, MN public garden .. and it's quite short. I choose Nahema again, since it's taller for cold zone. Bunnies eat my short roses, so I need something tall like Dee-lish, now at 5 feet tall as 1st-year own-root, with 10 buds as of November 9. I wish I can find more tall roses like that !!

But that looks like a very, very young plant.
I imagine, that the rose needs lots of cover over there, or freeze back to the ground... so will stay young and small.

At that moment it is July, but I have also been there in September and have seen it over 1 meter over there.

Thank you for that link .. Beverly has lots of blooms !! 1 meter is 3 feet , which is perfect size. Beverly is a child of The McCartney rose (Meilland) so that will do well in alkaline clay. Romantica & Meilland roses are very vigorous as own-roots in my alkaline clay.

Very vigorous and hardy in zone 4b/5a for a hybrid tea. Vigourous on it's own roots. Sending up many basal breaks this spring already. Got mine from High Country Gardens. Smaller potted plant that was planted relatively late last season made it through winter with vigor. Would really recommend to you to try,

Over here own root is not commonly available. Most of the roses one can buy are bud-grafted.

This is a fair-weather rose. Its petals are thin and its buds damp off in cool, wet weather. On the other hand, it has great vigour; few roses grow so fast, expanding in size and pushing up new flowers so quickly.
