Origin: Bred by Unknown  (before 1843).  Introduced in Australia by John Baptist  in 1861 as 'Souvenir du 30 Mai'.  
Bloom: Pink and yellow.  Center copper.  Large, double (17-25 petals), cupped bloom form.   
Growing: USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).

Notes: "Souvenir du 30. mai" is the name of a Military Quadrille by Jean-Baptiste Tolbecque (1797-1869), executed at the Ball offered by the National Guard of Paris in 1837 and dedicated to Hélène de Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Duchess of Orléans (January 24, 1814 Ludwisgslust Castle - May 17, 1858 London). On May 30, 1837 she married Ferdinand Philippe d'Orléans (1810-1842) at the Fontainebleau Castle. |
