Origin:
Introduced in France by Roseraie de l'Hay in 1902 as 'Madame René Gravereaux'.
Introduced in France by Charles Pierre Marie Cochet-Cochet in 1908 as 'Madame René Gravereaux'.
Class:
Climber, Hybrid Rugosa.  
Bloom:
Lilac - pink, light yellow undertones.  Strong fragrance.  Very large, double (17-25 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Climbing.  
Height of 39" to 6' 7" (100 to 200 cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Very vigorous.  
Notes:
René Gravereaux (b. 1875) was the son of Jules Gravereaux.
